Sally was driving alone through Arizona. It was a long and monotonous journey...

Passing a Navajo woman walking along the roadside, she pulled up and offered her a ride.

With a silent nod of thanks the woman got into the car

Resuming the journey Sally tried to make small talk. But the old  Navajo woman did not respond. She just sat studying everything with intense interest. Suddenly she noticed a brown paper bag on the seat next to Sally. 'What in bag?' she asked.

Sally glanced at the brown paper bag. 'It's a bottle of wine,' she replied, smiling. 'I got it for my husband.'

The Navajo woman was silent for a moment. Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said, 'Good trade.'
