The Universe has been caught speeding, according to top NASA scientists using the Hubble Space Telescope - which in this case might be described as the ultimate speed camera.

Of course it isn't motor cars doing the speeding but whole galaxies, which are being pushed away from each other at ever-increasing speeds by a mysterious 'Dark Energy'.

If all this leaves you a little bemused, you are, as they say, 'not alone'. Astronomers know almost nothing about it either, even though it appears to comprise about 70% of the universe.
